The Document record maintains the document throughout the document’s life cycle. It contains all of the information about the document and is typically owned and managed by either the document control group (centralized system) or the actual document owner (decentralized system). Document records can be accessed through Document Type (Documents folder) or through the Document Repository.
The Document Management application is comprised of the following Document user steps and actions which may, or may not be required based on your company Document Management process:

Records are unique to the organization under which they are created.
User Rights
The following rights must be assigned to a user for that user to manage or view documents:

APP_SUPERVISOR |
Allows the user to approve documents for any user. |
SDC_CREATE |
Allows the user to create new documents. |
SDC_DELETE |
Allows the user to delete documents. |
SDC_EXPIRE |
Allows the user to view documents that have a status of EXPIRED. |
SDC_INWORK |
Allows the user to view documents that have a status of INWORKS. |
SDC_MANAGE |
Allows the user to manage documents that the user owns and allows users to perform document reviews. The user can also edit the detail of document information screen when the document is in CURRENT status. |
SDC_SUPERVISOR |
Allows the user to manage documents that anyone owns. |
SDC_VIEW |
Allows the user to view documents that have a status of PRERELEASED, CURRENT, and PREEXPIRED. |
FOLDERCONFIG_VIEW |
Allows the user to view documents that have a status of PRERELEASED, CURRENT, and PREEXPIRED from the Document Repository. |
FOLDERCONFIG_MANAGE |
Allows the administrator to add, view, edit, and delete a repository. |
FOLDERCONFIG_SUPERVISOR |
Allows the administrator to modify or void a repository or modify the admin list. |

Allows the user to view the tags used to assign documents to repositories. |
SDC_REPOSITORY_TAGS_MANAGE |
Allows the user to manage the tags used to assign documents to repositories. |
